In June, 5 Scouts from Newtongrange took part in Shelterbox's Scavenger hunt round Edinburgh.
ShelterBox is an international disater relief charity that provides boxes of aid to disater areas, they have a really good website that tells you all about them http://www.shelterbox.org/.
As part of this they travelled to Edinburgh Acadamy and were given a map, a list of questions and our own shelterbox to transport round Edinburgh. The Scouts route started in Stockbridge, then into Princes Street down to Lothian Road to the Scottish Parliament and then up to Carlton Hill before going back to Stockbridge to return our box and recieve some very well earned juice and biscuits.
We learned a lot about by shelterbox through the display the had put on in the acadamy then we headed back to Newtongrange. This counted towards a large part of the global challenge and was definately a well earned hike.
