District Commissioner’s Christmas & New Year Message

2016 is coming to an end and what a year it has been.

The Cubs celebrated their 100th Birthday, with many activities taking place in Groups and the District. District Camp at Fordell Firs was a huge success. The feedback from the Cubs has been great and more District camps required, please.

The Beavers celebrated their 30th Birthday, with District activities taking place. Many Beavers came together from all over the District and enjoyed sports day and other celebrations.

Scouts and Explorers sent two and a half Patrols to Blair Atholl and many enjoyed sub-camp activities.

We started a new Group in Rosewell, the 49th. A very exciting start with many new Leaders recruited and already taking part in training activities. Beavers and Cubs meet on a Tuesday and Scouts will start soon after the new year.

The 14th Bonnyrigg opened up a third Beaver Colony and Cub Pack.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in Scouting a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and an extra special thank you goes to the people at home who allow you to give your time to Scouting activities.

All the best,

Brian
