District Commissioner’s Challenge Cup 2014

Tonight was the first successful ‘Midlothian District Commissioner’s Challenge Cup’ Event, which was run by the Midlothian District Scout Network.

For the first event the Network held a Quiz, for all the Scouts and Explorer’s in the District. In total there was 3 teams, one from Bonnyrigg Explorer Scout Unit, and 2 from Gorebridge Explorer Scout Unit, even although the Gorebridge lot got lost on their way. And I’m sure they passed the name of the Scottish Scout Headquarters – Brian Muirhead!!

The 3 Quiz Teams hard at work, even the Network members struggled with some of the questions!

However there could only be one winner, and the Midlothian District Commissioner’s Challenge Cup Trophy for 2014, goes to Bonnyrigg Explorer Scout Unit, with a winning score of 33/51! However both Gorebridge Teams were a close second and third.

Congratulations to all who took part, and keep your eyes peeled for information for the Midlothian District Commissioner’s Challenge Cup Event for 2015!!

At the end of the evening there was some freshly made sandwiches left over, it was decided that instead of just putting these items in the bin, we made contact with Streetwork Centre, Edinburgh. Keith delivered these items, straight after the quiz, and we received a letter of thanks from them.

The 2014 District Commissioner’s Challenge Cup Event was support via donations from, Midlothian District Scout Council, TESCO Penicuik and SCOTMID Stores. The hall was also donated by 14th Midlothian (Bonnyrigg) Scout Group.
