This morning at 1:43am, a radio call from the summit was received to inform
the team that. Carrie, Dan & Lhadpa Sherpa have arrived at the summit at
6:23am Nepali time.

The second member of the summit team, Keith (from Midlothian) had to turn back at an altitude
of 7945m on the North Ridge but is ok and it is hoped he will try for the
summit again soon.

The expedition is to celebrate the centenary of Scottish Scouting, following
on from a series of expeditions to achieve Scottish Scouts standing on top
of the highest summit on each of the seven continents.Denali, Aconcagua,
Elburus, Mt Cook and Kilimanjaro have been successfully scaled, and now in

2007 so has the summit of Everest.
